TIME TO REPAINT THE HOUSE? TIPS TO MAKE IT EASY AND PROFESSIONAL LOOKING

(ARA) - Are you hosting a graduation party this summer? Or perhaps you're welcoming out-of-town relatives or throwing a wedding shower for your best friend. Nothing motivates homeowners to spruce up their house like the prospect of entertaining.

And while you want your home to look great, it would be nice if it didn't cost a fortune or take too much valuable summer weekend time to get the job done. Even jobs that seem overwhelming can be tamed with the right tools.

For example, the tools available for repainting the exterior of your house have come a long way in the past few years. A quick trip to your local hardware store or big box retailer can provide you with all the supplies you need to get the job done. And you'll probably be pleasantly surprised how easy the new generation of products makes this home improvement chore.

The first and most tedious step in painting your home is getting rid of loose or flaking paint and prepping a smooth surface for the fresh paint. A better prepped surface means that the new paint goes on smoother, adheres better and lasts longer. A new innovative tool from Wagner Spray Tech makes quick work of this process.

The one-step patent pending PaintEater system eliminates traditional time consuming and labor intensive steps of exterior paint prep.  It removes chipped, peeling paint, feathers rough edges and smoothes the surface in one easy process so you can be ready to paint more quickly. The PaintEater is perfect for do-it-yourselfers. It's lightweight and maneuverable with an ergonomic design that allows for multiple hand positions, yet tough. The high-powered machine combines with the tough, 3M Coating Removal disc to create a perfect surface for repainting.

For a professional finish, and for making quick work of painting an entire house, nothing beats a power sprayer for helping homeowners paint like pros. Wagner's new Lock ‘N Go Power Painters spray paint, sealers, stains and other materials for a smooth, high-quality finish. The product comes equipped with a wide-shot paint cartridge for spraying large surfaces. Two other cartridges are sold as accessories; unique stain cartridge controls overspray with thin materials and a universal paint cartridge delivers a round spray pattern for small to medium size projects.

When you're done, a simple squeeze of a button releases all "wet" parts form the Power Painter; the used parts can simply be disposed of, or rinsed and re-used, making cleanup and color change a snap.

It's so fast and easy, you may find yourself deciding to refinish the deck, reseal the kids' playset and give the lawn furniture a fresh coat of paint.

Wagner's industry-leading knowledge of paint removal, paint application and power tools creates a paint removal system that is easy to use. For more information, visit www.wagnerspraytech.com. You can find Wagner products at home improvement stores nationwide.

PAINTING YOUR HOUSE RIGHT

(NAPS) --- Brushes and rollers are the traditional tools used for exterior painting, but getting a great looking paint job may be simpler than you think.

Today's technology has made paint sprayers affordable, yet they offer the same technology professionals use for fast, easy application with great results. Making a small, one-time investment in a sprayer can take the drudgery out of painting projects year after year.

For first time or seasoned sprayer, here are some tips that will help you get the best result on your spray job:
•·        Ask your paint dealer to help you estimate how much paint you will need for the house.
•·        Remove flaking paint with a wire brush, scraper or pressure washer.
•·        Make sure your siding is free of dust, grease and mildew.
•·        Mask off your windows with tape and newspaper to help keep paint off the glass.
•·        Throw a paint cloth or some old sheets over your bushes and flowers to protect them.
•·        Prime the overhangs and fascia boards first and apply the trim color after you have painted the main color.
•·        Avoid painting in full sun. This will let the paint dry at a normal speed, improving its ability to adhere to the house.
•·        Start painting from the top down.

Sprayers cut the process of painting down to three concise steps. Simply prep, spray and clean up. There's no more time-consuming edging and touch-ups.

A new airless paint sprayer from Wagner is specifically designed and priced for home-owner use. It can be used to spray most architectural coatings and paints---even latex. The 2800 PSI piston pump brings a consistent high-quality spray pattern. Wagner's new Paint Crew features a reversible spray tip for a superior finish and for clearing clogs fast, a 25-foot hose and an integrated tip holder for tips of various sizes. In addition, its lightweight design provides easy movement around the job site and simple clean-up.
